About Laura Monroe, PhD

I am an academic editor, educator, and university professor with a PhD in Education with a specialization in TESOL. For nearly 35 years, I have worked with writers at different stages of their academic and professional careers.
As a former master’s thesis advisor, I guided more than 400 graduate students through the thesis process. I have also edited over 1,800 PhD, EdD, DNP, DBA, DPA, and DMin dissertations across a wide range of disciplines. My experience includes journal manuscripts, nonfiction books, educational materials, grant proposals, reports, and professional/business content.
My background in teaching English to speakers of other languages gives me a strong understanding of the challenges multilingual writers may encounter. I edit for clarity and organization while preserving the writer’s intended meaning.
I hold a PhD in Education-TESOL and an MA in TESOL from the University of Central Florida, along with a BA in Secondary English Education from the University of South Florida. I am also the managing editor of the Journal of English Learner Education.
